Mr. Virtual's Classroom

In Mr. Virtual's Classroom, you take a seat in a student's desk and wave to him as he begins his 12th grade World Literature class. He introduces you to students and they greet you friendly with nods, waves, and smiles. He invites you to jump right into the role of a student if you'd like. You do so.

Mr. Virtual directs students to check out the virtual literary worlds in groups of four. You team up with three others to work through the activity and discussion prompts below.

1. In a separate internet window, log into the Literary World Website at www.literaryworlds.org

2. Once logged in, peruse the list of title listed on the right-hand column. Take about ten minutes to do this. As you do so, discuss what you notice as similar and different amongst these "literary worlds."

3. Venture as to the purpose behind the creation of each of the few literary worlds you have perused.

4. Now, as a group, choose to focus on one literary world for analysis. (Hint: Choose one that all or most of your group members are familiar with).

Now, head to "Analyze the Literary World" to discuss the world, its representations, interpretations, and potential uses in the classroom.
