Squire

Next to his father, the Squire is a completely different type of knight. In both appearance and manner, this youth is more reminiscent of the romantic and chivalric ideal of knights than the competant, unshowy, professional stance of the older man. His costume is cut in highly fashionable lines, being short, full-sleeved, and covered in expensive embroidery. He carries a flute, which he plays well and at the drop of a hat. A skilled poet, musician, dancer, and horseman in his own right, the Squire still displays due deference to his father and serves him at meals in the traditional manner.
