Taffy Tin
Taffy Tin

This could be what the tin of taffy looked like.

Questions for thought:
Would a candy maker in 1284 have had access to something like this tin to put candy into? When was "tin" invented?

If the candy maker did not have such a container, what do you think the container would have looked like? Or perhaps the candy maker simply wrapped the candy up in a cloth.

Also, the clear cellophane wrapping on the candy was not invented yet. How did people store food without clear plastic wrap, aluminum foil or wax paper?
