Geography

The main island is fairly small measuring only 100 miles by 35 miles. The island is mostly mountainous with the mountain range known as La Cordilla Central. The island is located in the tropics so it is fairly warm with an average temperature of 84.5 degrees F.

The Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean surround Puerto Rico. In addition, two small islands, Culebra and Vieques lie off the east coast, and the tiny island of Mona to the west.
