Shakespeare's Comedies
Shakespeare's Comedies

Within this shelf you will find digital copies of Shakespeare's comedies. Comedy, though, means something different today than it did when Shakespeare wrote. While Shakespeare's comedies often include humor, the idea of comedy was moreso founded upon its happy ending, usually marked with marriage and the promise of regeneration.

To access one of the comedies, simply choose a title from the shelf, click on it, and then click on the link inside, which will open an opensourceshakespeare.org edition of the play. For more information on the opensourceshakespeare project, visit http://www.opensourceshakespeare.org.

To take a particular volume from the shelf, use the "take" command. For example, if you want to take a copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream, type "take A Midsummer Night's Dream from Shakespeare's Comedies" into the dialogue box.

Remember, nothing can be checked out of the Shakespeare Learning Library, so please return any book to the shelf from which you take it.
