Getting Around
To move around a Literary Worlds virtual world, simply click on the icon of the place you want to go to. So if you want to go into the East Wing of the library from the Main Atrium, click on the green arrow labeled East Wing. Use the same strategy to examine objects more closely For example, to get a better look at the librarian, click on his icon to see his picture and read his description.
Sometimes places and objects are prohibited to certain people: for example, male patrons are not allowed in the women's bathroom, and female patrons are not allowed in the men's bathroom. These places are locked to you and will be shown with red arrows instead of their typical icons.
Sometimes you can enter a locked room or access a locked object if you have a key. For example, the library's copy of the first folio is available only to those who have a key; if you want to examine it more closely, you will need to find a key to the case. Maybe you can find the key somewhere in the library and take a closer look.
Another useful command to know:
1. Look
The look command gives specific information about the room you are presently in. You can type just "look" to see specific information displayed about the entire room or you can list a character or object after the command to learn specifically about that character. For example if you see Puck in a room and want to learn more about him, type "look Puck".
Also, remember, the room you are in does not automatically refresh itself. If you have been a room for a few minutes, it will appear the same as when you first entered even if the objects and characters in the room have changed. You must type "look" to refresh your view of the room or click the blue "look" button at the very top of the screen.
